Intel Joule Debate: A maker platform ready for widespread IoT use?
Ishu Verma

Intel Developer Forum 2016 (IDF) produced quite a few announcements this year, including the Joule, a powerful IoT dev kit. Although targeted at makers, Intel and partners spoke about how this Joule can be used for industrial IoT use cases --- cases like augmented reality safety glasses for manufacturing environments from PivotHead. This spawned an interesting debate in geek circles --- Is Intel Joule just a maker's tool, or does it have a place in the hands of the IoT...
Red Hat Identity Manager: Part 2 - Enterprise PKI Made Easy
Brian Atkisson
+1
This is the second installment in a series about using Red Hat Identity Management (IdM) on Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Fedora (using the upstream FreeIPA project). As described in part 1, IdM makes it very easy to build an enterprise-grade identity management solution, including a full enterprise PKI solution providing complete x509 certificate life cycle management. Most organizations start with a simple self-signed Certificate Authority (CA) certificate, perhaps generated using OpenSSL; with a little configuration and a few commands...
New, no-cost course: Deploying Containerized Applications

Docker has become the de facto standard for defining and running containers in the Linux® operating system. Kubernetes is Red Hat's choice for container orchestration. OpenShift, built upon Docker, Kubernetes, and other open source software projects, provides Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) for the ultimate in deploying applications within containers. Learn how to deploy applications in containers using Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift Enterprise by Red Hat®. Deploying Containerized Applications Technical Overview (DO080) is Red Hat's new, no-cost, video course that will teach you...
