Red Hat Developer Toolset has already been available for nearly four years and Red Hat Software Collections has been out for two and a half. We've seen excellent adoption of these as more and more developers and customers utilize the newer technologies that become available.
So, this week we announced more with these two new beta releases.

Old news (what are these things?)
Both Red Hat Software Collections and Red Hat Developer Toolset are "products" that are included with most Red Hat Enterprise Linux subscriptions, and all Red Hat Enterprise Linux Developer Subscriptions (including the recently announced no-cost version). But what's unique is that they are delivered on a separate lifecycle from Red Hat Enterprise Linux with a more frequent release cadence. This enables us to deliver and support newer versions of technologies as they mature in the upstream. Examples are GCC, Eclipse, Python, Node.js, MongoDB, and a whole lot more. Most of these components are also packaged in docker image format and can be pulled from Red Hat's registry. Lastly, many of these same stacks are also available in OpenShift for on-premise-to-cloud compatibility.
