This year JavaOne 2017 is being held at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, CA during October 1-5, I will be a holding a session for reactive programming covering The Reactive Landscape. In this session, I'm going to explain what does "reactive" mean.
There are many reactive things today, are all these "things" related? In addition, many concepts are associated with reactive such as messaging, elasticity, streams back-pressure and RX. This presentation explores the reactive landscape and explains the different facets of reactive including reactive systems, streams, and programming.
This session also introduces Eclipse Vert.x, a toolkit to build distributed and reactive systems on the JVM. Vert.x covers the complete reactive spectrum making it a perfect choice to start embracing the reactive way.
What will you learn in this session? All these reactive "things" are all made to build better systems. Understanding them and orchestrating them give you superpowers.
I look forward to having you join me Monday, Oct 02, 2017 in Moscone West - Room 2022.
Download the Eclipse Vert.x cheat sheet, this cheat sheet provides step by step details to let you create your apps the way you want to.
