Get started with Red Hat OpenShift Lightspeed

This learning exercise explains the requirements for Red Hat OpenShift Lightspeed and how to add the operator.

Prerequisites:

Here's what you need to get started:

  • Access and administration rights to a Red Hat OpenShift 4.15 or later cluster running on x86 hardware with telemetry enabled, sign up now for a no-cost Red Hat OpenShift trial.
  • Access to OpenShift CLI (oc).
  • A subscription to one of the following LLM providers for communication to OpenShift Lightspeed. Click on the link below to review product documentation for each LLM provider.

Step-by-step guide:

Installing the Operator

  1. Log into the OpenShift Web Console → Operators → Operator Hub and search for Lightspeed Operator.
  2. Once the OpenShift Lightspeed operator is found, click on it to select.
  3. When prompted, click Continue.
  4. Click Install, use the default settings, and click Install to continue. 
  5. Finally, click Operators → Installed Operators to confirm that the OpenShift Lightspeed operator has been installed. You should see Succeeded in the Status column.
