Yes, you may have heard that Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 is now generally available. ;)
But here is more good news: RHEL 7 is now available in all Amazon Web Services (AWS) regions including GovCloud (US)! Here's what Amazon's Terry Wise (head of Worldwide Partner Ecosystem, Amazon Web Services) had to say in a Red Hat press release this week:
“Red Hat and Amazon Web Services have worked closely together since 2007 to make Red Hat Enterprise Linux widely available on Amazon EC2. With Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7, AWS customers and partners have ready access to a flexible, scalable operating system that can deliver performance and efficiency for enterprise workloads leveraging the power of Amazon Web Services’ global, secure, on-demand, pay as you go cloud platform.”
You can use Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 in two ways on AWS: on demand, pay-as-you-go , or with Red Hat Cloud Access. Cloud Access allows you to take your existing RHEL subscriptions (now including RHEL 7) and use them on AWS. You can either use a private Amazon Machine Image (AMI) that we provide to you, or you can import your own image. This gives you more flexibility for how you deploy on AWS.
