We are pleased to announce the general availability of Red Hat Developer Hub (RHDH) 1.5.
Red Hat Developer Hub is a platform designed to streamline and enhance the developer experience within enterprises. Built on the foundation of Backstage, a Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) open source project, Developer Hub offers a customizable, centralized environment for developers to access the tools, resources, and documentation they need to build and deploy applications efficiently.
RHDH is supported across Red Hat OpenShift, AWS EKS, Azure AKS and Google GKE and integrates with most DevOps tools like GitHub, GitLab, Jira, and Jenkins, PagerDuty, and more., making it easier for developers to collaborate and allows self-service of best practice deployment patterns.

Let’s take a closer look at these new features and plugins…
RHDH Local (Dev Preview)
Need to tweak a page layout, write a new plugin or new template, test configuration? RHDH Local provides a safe playground to validate these changes before rolling them out to a larger team. Because it runs in a containerized environment, you can spin up RHDH Local in seconds and tear it down just as easily when you're done—without cluttering your system.

Support for high availability (for OpenShift)
The high availability feature is designed to ensure maximum uptime and reliability of Red Hat Developer Hub. With this feature, users can enjoy a more robust and resilient experience, keeping their critical operations running smoothly at all times. The high availability feature in this release is currently limited to OpenShift. Support for other Kubernetes distributions will be available in future versions.
Discover plugins with the Extensions plugin (Dev Preview)
The Extensions plugin offers RHDH platform engineering information on the various plugins directly from RHDH. It includes descriptions and links to further information about each plugin and badges to differentiate verified plugins, certified plugins, community plugins and custom plugins.

Set up your RBAC permissions faster
When managing roles, you can select multiple users and groups at once. You can also select multiple plugins and permissions at once. This will allow platform engineers to configure RBAC much faster.
Global header
The global header allows users to quickly access the search, view notifications, create new applications from the self-service and much more via configuration.

Top three new plugins available for RHDH
Below, we detail the top three new plugins available for RHDH and the community.
Adoption Insights plugin (Dev Preview)
The Adoption Insights plugin helps platform engineering to understand the usage of their portal by tracking the number of active users over a specific period of time, view the top commonly used templates and plugins, the portal searches and the most accessed components, APIs and more.

Resource Optimization plugin (GA)
With the Resource Optimization, users can view the CPU/Memory usage over time and get new recommended configurations. Users can copy the new configuration to their configuration files or apply the new configuration using the orchestrator feature.
